Grid Tools
GRID TOOLS provide a fast means of defining a data grid to enter and edit Z field and point description fields for each point on the grid. The facility to extract rectangular areas of the grid as points, strings or blocks enclosing the grid points is available, as well as the ability to perform mathematical functions on the Z and description fields.
GRID TOOLS can be used to enter gridded data, as well as provide the facility for fast entry of both survey and sample data for grade control drilling patterns. Grids may also be quickly created for `laying over' DTM's to create a surface mesh for 3D viewing.
Grid data created and maintained by this module is stored differently from all other string files. The grid file has the extension .grd and is only available for use in GRID TOOLS. The grid file, once created, can be repeatedly updated and edited, and data may be extracted into string file format in order to be used by other modules.
Choose File tools > Grid tools from the main menu to display the GRID TOOLS submenu.
The functions available on the GRID TOOLS submenu are as follows:
- Define Grid
- Enter Grid Points
- Select Grid
- Inspect Grid
- Create Strings
- Read Strings Into Grid
- Grid Maths
- Close Grid
- Create Nodes From Variable Grid
- Create Variable Grid
Note: Before you can select any of the other functions in the GRID TOOLS submenu, you must choose the Define Grid function or the Select Grid function.
