Plane properties

You can view and modify the properties for a group of planes using the plane properties. You can also view and modify the properties of each plane saved to the Plan, Vertical, or Inclined folders in the Planes panel.

To access the properties, in the Planes panel, right-click a plane type and click Properties, or right-click on any plane and click Properties.

Plan

Field	Description
Reference elevation	The elevation of the plane.
Lower elevation limit	The elevation of the lower limit of the visible data when the plane is active.
Upper elevation limit	The elevation of the upper limit of the visible data when the plane is active.
Group	The name of the group that contains this plane. Note: The group name is the name of the folder in which the planes are stored. The full path to the directory must be less than 256 characters. You can use any letters, numbers, and characters except \ / : * ? " < > \| in the group name.
Sequence	The sequence number to order planes within a group. Note: The sequence number controls the order in which planes are displayed when you select the next or previous plane in 2D and 3D.

Vertical

Field	Description
Left-hand point
Northing	The northing of the point that defines the left end of the plane.
Easting	The easting of the point that defines the left end of the plane.
Min. Elevation	The lower limit of the plane.
Right-hand point
Northing	The northing of the point that defines the right end of the plane.
Easting	The easting of the point that defines the right end of the plane.
Max. Elevation	The upper limit of the plane.
Group
Name	The name of the group that holds this plane. Note: The group name is the name of the folder in which the planes are stored. The full path to the directory must be less than 256 characters. You can use any letters, numbers, and characters except \ / : * ? " < > \| in the group name.
Sequence	The sequence number to order planes within a group. Note: The sequence number controls the order in which planes are displayed when you select the next or previous plane in 2D and 3D.
Section Thickness
Away	The distance away from the plane in the plane viewing direction (for example, to the North when viewing an East-West section to the North). Note: This allows you to restrict the visibility of data to a specified distance towards or away from the current plane.
Towards	The distance towards the default viewing position from the plane (for example, to the South when viewing an East-West section to the North).

Inclined

Field	Description
Orientation
Northing	The northing of the point that defines the left end of the top edge of the plane.
Easting	The easting of the point that defines the left end of the top edge of the plane.
Length	The total length along the top edge of the plane.
Azimuth	The direction the top edge of the plane extends from the left end, measured clockwise from north.
Inclination
Min. elevation	The lower limit of the section plane.
Max. elevation	The upper limit of the section plane.
Dip angle	The angle from horizontal to the plane in the direction of dip (perpendicular to the azimuth). The angle is negative downwards.
Dip direction	The direction that the section plane dips towards as you look along the plane from the left.
2D view
Vertically (or) In plan	Vertically - The orientation edge at the top. In plan - The orientation edge along the side.
Right side (or) Left side	The side of the orientation edge.
Group
