Column processing
Column processing is a set of functions that act on individual columns of blocks in the block model. The columns may be in any of the principal orientations (i.e. X, Y or Z) and their sizes are those of the highest resolution (i.e. smallest sub-block) in the model.
In a rotated block model, column processing takes place in model space, along a column of blocks. Thus when defining the X, Y or Z to perform the column processing, care must be taken with a rotated model to achieve the desired result.
| COLUMNS | |
|---|---|
| Column Tops | Save the coordinates of the top of each column in a block model to a string file |
| Ore/Waste Discrimination | Classify blocks as ORE or WASTE |
| Dilution & Reduction | Apply dilution and reduction to ore/waste contacts and column tops and bottoms |
| Recoverable Product | Calculate the volume of recoverable product |
| Thicknesses | Save the thicknesses and length-weighted composite grades in a string file |
