Planes block shrinkage

You use this function to reduce the size of the blocks that are displayed in a plane. Usually, you would use this function immediately before or after using Colour model by attribute and BLOCK MODEL AS BLOCKS.

To run this function: On the Planes panel, click the Block shrinkage button; or, in the Function Chooser, type PLANES BLOCK SHRINKAGE, and press ENTER.

Fields on the Block shrinkage form

Field Description
Block shrinkage

The amount by which you want to shrink the blocks.

Note: This must be a positive value, and should be small when compared with the block size.

Output

The length of each block is reduced by the value specified on each end. That is, the total length is reduced by twice the value specified for Block shrinkage.

Note: If you want to remove block shrinkage, run this function and use zero as the value for Block shrinkage.
