Display DTM surface offsets
You use this function to show the vertical offset (difference in elevation) between each point on a selected segment and the DTM stored in the DTM SURFACE LAYER in Graphics.
Prerequisites: A DTM must be loaded into the 'dtm surface layer' using the LOAD DTM Surface function.
To run this function: Choose Design > Pit design > Display DTM surface offsets, or...
The offsets are shown as numeric values with:
- positive values indicating that the point is above the DTM by the amount shown.
- negative values indicating that the point is below the DTM by the amount shown.
When you use this function you see the following message:
Select the segment to display the DTM offsets
In Graphics select the segment for which to show offsets. This message remains displayed so you can select other segments to show more offset information.
Output
The height offset between each point on the selected segment and the DTM is shown to the left of the points. The offset value is displayed in the 'rubberband' colour, that you can set with the SETTINGS function under Graphics colours.
Any points that are outside the boundary of the DTM do not show an offset value because it is impossible to determine the difference in elevation.
Troubleshooting
The DTM layer does not exist. Use the LOAD DTM Surface function.
You must first load a DTM into the DTM SURFACE LAYER using the LOAD DTM Surface function.
