Connect to InSite

You can use this function to connect to an InSite server to upload data. You can upload information about mining locations from Surpac to the InSite database. Typically, the mining information would be represented by a polygon, solid,or block model constraint in Surpac.

The data required by InSite is:

  • Site
  • Location Code
  • Parent Location
  • Volume or Mass
  • Material Type
  • Grade
  • any other data associated with the mining location that you want recorded in InSite

To run this function: Choose File > Export > Connect to InSite, or...

  • In the Function Chooser, type INSITE CONNECT, and press ENTER.

Fields on the Connect to InSite form

Field Description
Server The address for the InSite server to which you want to upload the file.
Connect Connects the Surpac session to the InSite server specified. Once connected, Surpac downloads a list of all of the available instances on the InSite server.
Database The database instance to which you want to upload the file.

Output

Surpac connects to the InSite database.

Messages

Message Description
The database ... cannot be found on the InSite server ... If this function is run in a macro, it is possible that the database specified has been removed from the server. Check that the database name is valid by running INSITE CONNECT interactively.
