SLIDE - Limit equilibrium analysis of slope stability

               (c) Copyright 2000-2003 Rocscience Inc.

ABOUT THE DEMO
--------------

The demo of SLIDE can be used to read, compute and display the data associated with
the supplied example files. Saving the user-defined model data is not permitted.
Reading of any other SLIDE data files besides the examples is not permitted.
You can however use all the data interpretation and visualization capabilities
of the program to test its functionality. Also supplied with the demo is the
SLIDE tutorial manual. The manual is in Adobe PDF format. If you do not have the
Adobe PDF Reader installed on your machine you can download it for free from
http://www.adobe.com. Using the tutorials you can easily evaluate the functionality
of the program.

STEPS TO EVALUATE SLIDE USING THE DEMO
--------------------------------------

1. Open/Print the Tutorial Manual and go through the process of creating a model.

2. Since you can not save your model, you can read in any of the completed
tutorial example files from the examples folder.

3. Run Compute from within Slide or from the Slide Start menu to analyze the
   example file.

4. Run Interpret from within Slide or from the Slide Start menu to view the
   results.

5. You can use all the functionality within Slide or Interpret on any of the
supplied example files to evaluate the application.

ABOUT SLIDE
-----------

Slide is a 2-D slope stability analysis program that combines an attractive,
easy to use CAD based graphical interface with a wide range of modeling and data
interpretation options. Slide calculates safety factors for circular
and non-circular slope failure surfaces, based on a number of widely used limit
equilibrium techniques including Bishop, Janbu, Spencer, Corp Engineers 1&2,
Lowe&Karafiath, and GLE. The simple to use editing tools provide a convenient method
for performing parametric studies. The graphical data interpreter provides a rich set
of tools for the convenient display of model results. With Slide, you can very quickly
and easily create a model, perform a stability analysis, and interpret the results.

UPDATES
-------

Free updates for MINOR releases (i.e. bug fixes) of each program are available
from our Internet Web (WWW) site http://www.rocscience.com.
Make sure you read the update policy before downloading the latest version.
You might have to pay for an upgrade to the last MAJOR release (i.e. improved
functionality) of the software. Please check the web site prior to submitting
a bug report. Your problem may already have been fixed.
