Inputting Chinese Characters

The following will help you in the steps to inputting Chinese characters in Windows 2000.

Click on the "Start" button
Select "Control Panel" under the "Settings" menu
Click on the "Regional Options" icon
Select the "General" tab and choose "Simplified Chinese" under Language settings for the system
Reboot computer
Go back to the "Region Options" window, select the "General" tab again and change "your local (location)" to "Chinese (PRC)"
Now select the "Input Locals" tab go to the installed input locals window and click on add
Choose "Chinese (PRC)" for "input local" and "Chinese (PRC) - QuanPin" for "Keyboard Layout/IME"
Click on the apply button on the bottom right to save the options
Load up the message editor
Use left alt and shift to switch to Chinese once the "Current Translations" window is editable
