Prism summary
Function Name:
With this function you can display an on screen summary of the results for the last recorded measurements to each of the selected prisms. For each prism and each measured attribute the data which are displayed includes:
- total change in the measured attribute
- the change from the second last to the last measurement
- the velocity determined at the last measurement
- the acceleration determined at the last measurement
Reports containing either a summary for the last measurement to each prism only or details of all measurements to each of the selected prisms may be created with this function. The report is saved to a .NOT file for later printing and perusal.
If a report file is created then a string file is also created with the summary data for the last measurement to each prism which is displayed in the summary.
From the Surveymenu, select Stability monitoring, then Prism summary report to invoke the function.
Report content
Choose the type of report which is to be created, if any, by entering either no report, detail report or summary report. The type of output created by this function is dependant on the entry in this field.
- no report
Produces neither a .NOT file nor a string file
- detail report
Produces a .NOT file containing details of all measurements to each prism. A string file is also created to enable plotting of maps with the prism locations and annotations showing the values of the various attributes which have been extracted.
- summary report
Produces a .NOT file containing details for the last measurement to each prism. A string file is also created to enable plotting of maps with the prism data. The string file is identical to the one created using the detail report option.
Examples of the detail report, summary report and string files which can be created are included at the end of this section.
Location and ID number
If either the detail report or summary report options are chosen then the file which is to be created must be defined by entering a location and ID number.
Report fields
If either the detail report or summary report options are chosen then the attributes which are to be included in the report .NOT file and in the string file for plotting must be chosen from the list of available attributes. Typically only those attributes which describe the maximum amount of movement of the prisms will be chosen to be included in the report.
In the string file which is created the description fields contain the following data:

Complete the MONITORING PRISM SUMMARY form and choose Apply to create the required .NOT and .STR files.
