Pentax-Husky data recorders

Function Name:

  • PENTAX HUSKY

The data format for the Pentax Husky data recorder is described here. Click here for details on the processing of data recorder files.

The PENTAX-HUSKY instrument/data recorder combination has record types which store all the required information except the reference angle to the backsight. The reference angle must be supplied from the keyboard; since 0.0000 is supplied as the default, choosing Apply is generally all that is required.

From the Survey menu, select Data recorders, then Pentax Husky to invoke the function.

Features NOT SUPPORTED by the PENTAX-HUSKY data recorder include:

  • Down load and upload functions
  • Date values are not obtained from the data recorder
  • Time values are not obtained from the data recorder
  • Temperature values are not obtained from the data recorder
  • Pressure values are not obtained from the data recorder
  • Co-ordinate values are not obtained from the data recorder

Note: The down load and up load functions are not supported for the Pentax-Husky data recorder.

Record types which are used are:

Type Data
00 Indicates the start of a new survey in the data recorder file.
11 Contains the backsight station.
31 Contains the setup station and height of setup (in millimetres).
01 Detail point record. Point number, Slope distance, Horizontal angle, Vertical angle, Height of Target. The observation data may be followed by a remark record to identify string number and or point description.
61 REMARK record. The remark record is not an essential piece of data. If the REMARK record exists then it is associated with the observation data immediately preceding it and contains the point description. The string number comes from the code field which occurs at the end of the observation record. The string number needs only to be defined at the start of each segment and all points after that will have that string number until a different one is entered.
