Set trisolation to solid or void

You use this function to set all triangles in a trisolation to a consistent direction. Before running SET TRISOLATION DIRECTION, you must validate the trisolations.

To run this function: Choose Solids > Validation > Set trisolation to solid or void, or...

  • In the Function Chooser, type SET TRISOLATION DIRECTION, and press ENTER.

Note: All triangles in a trisolation must have the same direction to correctly calculate volumes of the space inside a 3DM.

Fields on the Set triangle directions for trisolations form

Field Description
Layer name The name of the active layer.
Object The number of the object that contains the trisolations that you want to set direction for.
Trisol range The range of trisolations that you want to set direction for. If you leave this field blank, all trisolations in the object are processed.
Solid
  • Selected: The trisolation direction is set to solid.
  • Cleared: The trisolation direction is set to void.

Output

The specified trisolations have their direction set to either solid or void.

Note: If you have defined a range of trisolations to be processed, or you are processing all the trisolations in an object, and you have not input an Object 1 in the current layer, you might receive a warning that Object 1 does not contain any trisolations. You can ignore this message (Surpac creates an Object 1 as a default object).
