Object name
This function allows you to assign a name to the object. The object name is for reference purposes only. It provides a way to permanently reference individual objects with a text description. This name is included in any reports containing details of the object.
To run this function: Choose Solids > Edit object > Name, or...
Select a triangle on the OBJECT to be named
Position the pointer and select a triangle on the object which is to be named.
Selection of the object displays the NAME AN OBJECT form.
Layer name
Display only. The name of the active layer is displayed. The active layer is the only layer you are able to modify.
Object
Display only. The object number of the selected object which is to be named.
Name
Enter the name you wish to store for the selected object.
Result
The entered name will later be stored in the `.dtm' file alongside the object number when the Save File function is used.

In the above example, object number one was given the name `Underground stopes on the NW320 level'. This is now a permanent record which is stored in the `.dtm' file as a reference to object number one.

Only objects which are in the active layer can be edited. You have selected an object which is not in the active layer.
