Snap Grid
This function allows you to display a snap grid in the active viewport. The snap grid, if displayed, will cause mouse actions for the editing or insertion of title block elements to snap to a precise location. The snap grid is very useful when you wish to ensure that lines, text and symbols in title blocks are in specific locations with respect to each other.
Prerequisites: A title block is displayed in the Plot Sheet Setup window.
To run this function: In the Plot Sheet Setup window, choose Title Blocks > Snap grid > Properties, or...
Fields on the Snap grid properties form
X Origin (cm), Y Origin (cm)
The snap grid has an origin that you may alter to suit your needs. X and Y values of (0,0) place the snap grid origin coincident with the lower left corner of the plotting sheet.
If the active viewport contains a title block then the default X and Y values for the origin are such that the snap grid is conveniently placed at the lower left corner of the title block. This is particularly useful for constructing title blocks.
X Size (cm), Y Size (cm)
To place the markers in the required locations you must define the size (distance between grid points) of the snap grid in both the X and Y directions.
All dimensions used by the plotting module, including those of the snap grid, are in units of centimetres.
Choose Apply to draw the snap grid in the active viewport. The snap grid is drawn as a regular rectangular, or square, grid of markers (small dots) using the plotting.rubberband_colour
Helpful Hints
Avoid drawing the snap grid over a large area with very small grid spacings as it may take while to draw.
