Entity import

This function allows you to load entity definitions from a text file into the plotting library. This is useful for moving entity definitions from one type of computer to another.

To run this function: Choose Plotting > Entity > Import, or...

  • In the Function Chooser, type ENTITY LOAD, and press ENTER.

Entity File

The name of the text file which contains the entity definitions must be entered on the form.

Entities will not be loaded if definitions already exist in the library with the same name.

The entities are loaded from the text file into the plot library. If any entities of the same name already exist in the library they will not be replaced by the entities from the text file. Furthermore, a warning message will be displayed to inform you of this fact.

If the entities were created with an older version of Surpac, they will automatically be updated to the current version. However, if the entities were created with a new version of Surpac, they will not be compatible with the older version and the load will fail.
