Entity copy

This function allows you to copy an existing entity definition to a new entity name. This is useful when you have an existing entity which you wish to keep, but you also want to create a new entity which is similar enough to the existing entity that it is easier to copy and modify than to create from scratch.

To run this function: Choose Plotting > Entity > Copy, or...

  • In the Function Chooser, type ENTITY COPY, and press ENTER.

Old Entity name

Enter the name of the existing entity which is to be copied to create a new entity. The entity name may be selected from a list by using the browser to display the list of entity names.

New Entity name

Enter the name of the entity which is to be created by copying an existing entity. Note that the new entity can not already exist in the plotting library.

The old entity is copied to the name supplied for the new entity. You may now choose to use the Entity Modify function to make the necessary changes to the new entity.
