Save holes and sections for plotting

Once loaded into Ring Design, surveyed opening and stope outlines can be edited. To save the changes to these data ready for plotting, choose Save For Plot from the SECTIONS submenu to display the SAVE SECTION FOR PLOT form. All information saved will be in sectional coordinates suitable for plotting. Included information saved is stope outlines, survey openings, drill holes, pivot strings and possibly a reference point. Note that if a reference point exists it will be used as the origin and all other points will be saved with x and y coordinates relative to this point. In this case the dfields 1-3 of the reference point will contain it's real-world position.

To run this function: Choose Design > Ring design > Ring design > Save holes and sections for plotting, or...

  • In the Function Chooser, type SAVE RD PLOT, and press ENTER.

Each drillhole comprises a single string with:

  • the first segment of the string representing the entire hole and
  • the second and subsequent segments representing the charged lengths of the hole.

Thus, if the hole has not been charged, there will be only one segment representing the hole.

Other data such as hole length, detonator delay etc. that can be plotted is contained in the first point of the first segment of each drill hole string (and the first point of each charge segment) as described in the plotting section of the Ring Design documentation.
