Powder factor using solids
Before using this function, load the sections representing the rings on either side of the current ring into a graphics layer. This function allows the creation of a 3dm between the stope outline of interest in the current ring and a stope outline from the rings on either side of the current ring.
To run this function: Choose Design > Ring design > Reports > Powder factor using solids, or...
Select the centre stope outline
Select the stope outline of interest in the current ring to display the prompt:
Select the first bounding stope outline
Select the outline of the stope of interest in the previous ring to display the prompt.
Select the second bounding stope outline
A 3dm with two trisolations is created. The first trisolation represents the volume between the stope in the current ring and the stope from the previous ring. The second trisolation represents the volume between the stope in the current ring and the stope from the next ring. The volumes of these trisolations are totalled, then halved to calculate the volume of rock for which the current ring is 'responsible'.
The POWDER FACTOR CALCULATIONS form is displayed.
Rock volume
The volume of rock for which the current ring charge must account.
Explosive mass
The mass of explosive in holes drilled into the current stope. Holes belonging to a ring other than the current ring are not included in this calculation.
Powder factor
Explosive mass / Rock volume.
Specific gravity
A nominal specific gravity of the rock to calculate the ring mass.
Rock mass
The mass of the rock in the ring.
The Reset button cancels any editing of the fields on the form, resetting the field values to their initial state.
The Save 3DM button saves the 3DM created by the function to a file. Choose Save 3DM to display the SAVE 3DM TO A FILE form.
Location
The location of the dtm file to save.
Id Number
The id of the dtm file to save.
Choose Apply to write to the specified file or Cancel to cancel the function. If the file exists, the VERIFY CREATION OF A FILE form is displayed.
Choose Apply to overwrite to the specified file or Cancel to re-enter the file name.

Explosive mass for holeaaa:bbb(kg)
The calculated explosive mass for hole aaa is bbb kg.
If there is more than one charge segment in the hole, the masses of the individual charges are reported, followed by a total for the hole. For example:
Explosive mass for hole 1: 1 = 44.577, 2 = 78.591, 3 = 78.591, 4 = 14.468, total = 216.227
After the individual holes are reported, a total for the ring is given:
Explosive mass for ring:ccc(kg)
The calculated explosive mass for the ring is ccc kg. This is the sum of the masses reported for individual holes.
