Interpolate between end points
This is one of a number of functions which can used to interpolate and label new drill holes by selecting two existing drill holes. With this function you can select two existing drill holes (points) and interpolate new holes between these two points by filling the gaps in the number sequence between the two selected holes. This function uses the hole ID formatting characteristics entered using the DEFINE HOLE ID FORMAT function to create the drill hole IDs.
To run this function: Choose Design > Grade control > Hole numbering options > Create new points between numbered ends, or...
Note that this function does not label the selected end points. The selected end points must have labels which comply with the hole ID formatting characteristics for this function to work. It does not matter if you select the holes in ascending or descending number sequence.
An example of the use of this function is as follows.
The first selected hole is labelled "A05" and the second selected hole is labelled "A11". New holes will be interpolated at equal intervals to create the holes "A06", "A07", "A08", "A09" and "A10".
Select the first point
Position the cursor and select the point at which you want to start interpolating and labelling drill holes.
Select the point of interest to display the prompt:
Select the second point
Position the cursor and select the point at which you want to end interpolating and labelling drill holes.
Select the point of interest to interpolate and label the new holes.
After the holes have been interpolated and labelled you will be prompted to select the first point again. The function will continue until you choose Cancel.
The string number to which each of the affected points will be assigned will be the same as the string number of the first point which you select.
Any intervening points which need to be interpolated are created and labelled. Markers and labels are drawn on the screen to indicate to changes which have been made.
Hole ID does not comply with formatting characteristics
This message indicates that one of the holes which was selected has a hole ID which does not conform to the hole ID formatting characteristics entered using the DEFINE HOLE ID FORMAT function. You will not be able to use the INTERPOLATE BETWEEN END POINTS function unless you ensure that the hole IDs and the hole ID format agree.
