Renumber holes

You can use this function to renumber blast holes that are displayed as strings. One situation where this is useful is when you have clipped the blast holes to a boundary string and removed some of the blast holes that were previously at the start of the numbering sequence.

Prerequisites: For this function to be useful, some blast holes are displayed in Graphics as strings.

To run this function: Choose Design > Blast design > Blast design > Renumber holes, or...

  • In the Function Chooser, type BLAST ASSIGN HOLE ID, and press ENTER.
Fields on the Renumber holes form

Field Description
Renumber
  • Single Holes. Only a single point is renumbered. If you did not select a blast hole before running this function, you are prompted to select a point after you click Apply.
  • Hole Groups. All the holes in a blast zone are renumbered. If you did not select a blast hole before running this function, you must select a blast hole after you click Apply to successfully renumber all the holes in that blast zone.
  • Note: Each blast zone is created when you create the blast pattern, and choose the option to modify burden and spacing by polygon.

  • All Holes. All holes are renumbered, even if the holes have different pattern identifiers.
Hole ID Prefix Characters to place in each hole ID before the numeric part of the ID (but after the pattern identifier).
Hole ID Suffix Characters to place in each hole ID after the numeric part of the ID.
Starting Value The starting number of the sequence to use when renumbering the holes.
Pad Hole_Id
  • Selected. When the holes are renumbered, the Pad Character is added to the front of the numerical portion of the hole id.
  • Cleared. The hole ID is not padded.
Pad Length

The length of each hole id, not including prefix or suffix. If the length of a hole ID is less than this number, the Pad Character is added to the front of the hole ID as many times as needed to increase the length of the hole ID to Pad Length.

For example, if Hole ID Prefix is Pre, Starting Value is 97, Pad Length is 6 and Pad Character is 0, the first hole ID is Pre000097.

Pad Character The padding character to place in front of the hole id.

Output

The hole ids of the blast holes, displayed in Graphics, are renumbered in the way that you specified.
