Blast summary
This report shows the charging details for each hole, explosive mass, sub-drill and other common drilling and blasting parameters.
This function requires a blast database, a blast solid 3DM and / or a block model.
To run this function: Choose Design > Blast design > Report > Blast summary, or...
When the block model is not loaded, the volume & mass calculations are carried out only using the 3DM. The 3DM may contain several objects for various rock types. The rock name and the blast pattern name are stored as object name in the various objects in the 3DM. The specific gravity is picked up from the Blast design defaults for the corresponding rock name in the 3DM objects for the purpose of calculating mass.
When the block model is loaded, the volume & mass calculations are carried out using the attribute in the block model where specific gravity of the rock is stored. In this case the 3DM will act as a constraint. Note that the volume calculated using the block model constrained with the 3DM will be different to that calculated using the blast solid (3DM), please refer to Block Modelling and the Make Constraint & Partial Percentages documentation for more information on this.
The blast database must be created using Design -> Blast design -> Blast design -> Create blast database.
Blast summary report form
Blasting notes
This could be any site specific notes / comments.
Location
This is the location name of the report file. File may be selected using the file browser or typed in.
Id number
This is the Id of the report file.
Report Format
The report format is selected here. Following are the various supported formats.
.not - Surpac Note File
.csv - Comma Separated (Spreadsheet)
.htm - Hypertext Markup Language (Web)
.html - Hypertext Markup Language (Web)
.rtf - Rich Text Format (Microsoft Word)
.pdf - Adobe Acrobat
.ps – Postscript
.log - Surpac log file
Report orientation
There are two options to set the HoleID orientation in the report.
- Across the page - This places the HoleIds across the page.
- Down the page - This places the HoleIds down the page.
Report type
There are three options:
Detailed
A blast pattern identifier might contain a number of rock mass classifications. This option produces a report for each rock mass classification within each blast pattern identifier.
Consolidated
This option sums up the report for various rock mass classifications of a blast pattern identifier. Basically this is a grand total of report of all the RMCs in a blast pattern identifier.
Both
This option produces both the detailed report as well as the consolidated report.
3DM file location
Specify the blast solid 3DM location or select it from the file browser. This 3DM is responsible for calculating the volume & mass of the solid. It may contain multiple objects for different rock types. Each object must contain the rock name and blast pattern name separated by "+" as the object name.
Example : The object name could be Laterite+xyz. Here the rock name is Laterite and the pattern name is xyz. This is taken care of while creating the blast solid.
Id number
This is the Id of the blast solid 3DM file.
Define the blast pattern
There are four options for generating report for various blast patterns.
- All patterns - This will output the report for each & every pattern in the blast database.
- Group of patterns - This option permits you to select Start and End pattern. The report will be generated for the patterns in this range.
- Unique pattern - This option permits you to select a pattern. The report will be generated for this pattern only.
- Some patterns - This option permits you to select the blast patterns individually in a data entry table for which the report is generated.
Use block model
If the block model is loaded tick the check box to use it for volume & tonnage calculation.
Specific gravity attribute
Select the attribute in the block model where specific gravity of the rock is stored.
Complete the Blast Summary Report form, and press Apply to display the Modify Blast Solid Details form.
Modify blast solid details form
Override blast solid details
When ticked, the software will use the values from the panel below.
The purpose of this form is to show the details of the blast solid 3DM selected in the previous form. The details consist of "Object number", "Rock mass classification", "Blast pattern", "Volume" and "Mass" of various objects present in the solid. The "Rock mass classification" and "Blast pattern" attributes are stored in the blast solid 3DM as object name separated by "+". e.g. Laterite+BP1. The purpose of specifying the "Rock mass classification" and "Blast pattern" attributes while creating a solid using the function BLAST SOLID is to relate the solid with a particular "Rock mass classification" and "Blast pattern" to know its volume & mass which are required at the time of generation of a report. The mass is calculated using the volume & the specific gravity of that particular Rock mass classification. The specific gravity is picked up from the Blast design defaults. The software then tries to generate reports when these two attributes match with those stored in the database. If any of these two attributes fail to match, then a suitable warning message appears in the report. This form gives us additional facility to virtually edit "Rock mass classification" and / or "Blast pattern" without actually editing these details in the blast solid 3DM. In case of detailed report, the Blast pattern as well as the Rock mass classification both are checked whether they match with the entries in the database with the entries in the blast solid 3DM. But in case of consolidated report, only the pattern name is checked.
