Pre-split Holes along a segment

You can use this command to create pre-split holes.

Prerequisites: A string open in Graphics.

To run this function: Design > Blast Design > Blast Design > Pre-split holes along segment, or...

  • In the Function Chooser, type BLAST PRESPLIT SEG, and press ENTER.
Fields on the Pre-split parameters form

Field Description
Presplit segment
Spacing method
  • Spacing: Specify the number of holes along the selected segment.
  • No. holes: Specify the number of blastholes. The spacing between each blasthole is automatically calculated.
Collar elevation
Elevation method
  • Fixed: All blastholes will use the same collar elevation that is entered at elevation field. The elevation field is displayed.
  • Selected Segment: Collar elevations of blastholes are determined based on selected segment.
  • DTM layer:Collar elevations of blastholes are determined based on the specified surface open in the chosen layer. Additional fields will be displayed.
  • DTM file: Collar elevations of blastholes are determined based on the specified surface stored in the chosen layer. Additional fields will be displayed.
Elevation The elevation of all drillholes.
Offset from line The offset from the line. The direction of the offset will be selected later if the offset is > 0.
Hole settings
Bearing
  • Set bearing: Specify the bearing of all holes
  • Perp. to segment: The bearing perpendicular to the slected segment will be used to create the bottom of the blasthole
Hole bearing The desired bearing. When the angle units has been set to Degrees the valid range is 0 to 360. When the angle units are set to Grads the valid range is 0 to 400.
Hole dip The desired hole dip. When the angle units has been set to Degrees the valid range is -90 to 90. When the angle units are set to Grads the valid range is -100 to 100.
Hole diameter The diameter of the holes.
Blast settings
Clip to boundary
  • Selected: The hole generation will be clipped to an existing boundary
  • Cleared: The hole generation will not be clipped to an existing boundary
Rock name Select a suitable rock name from the rock name list, which is pre-defined in the Drill and Blast Settings.
Pattern identifier The pattern identifier for the holes.
Drill rig The name of the drill rig.
Toe elevation
Toe position method
  • Set Length: All blastholes will use the same length which is entered at Hole length field.
  • Set Elevation:All blastholes will use the same toe elevation that is entered at Elevation field.
  • DTM layer: Toe elevations of blastholes are determined based on the specified surface open in the chosen layer. Additional fields will be displayed.
  • DTM file: Toe elevations of blastholes are determined based on the specified surface stored in the chosen file. Additional fields will be displayed.
  • Set to Segment: Toe elevations of a blasthole are determined based on latter-selected segment. Additional fields will be displayed.
Hole length The length of all holes.
Subdrill distance The extra hole length that will be added to the specified hole length.
Labelling options
Hole ID prefix The hole prefix string. This value will be added to the hole id before the incrementing numerical part
Hole ID suffix The hole suffix string. This value will be added to the hole id after the incrementing numerical part
Starting value The starting number for the incremental part of the hole id
Pad holeid
  • Selected: The numerical portion of the hole id is padded to a specific length
  • Cleared: The hole id will not be padded
Pad length The length to pad the hole id
Pad character The character to pad the hole identifier with

Output

A series of blastholes is displayed in Graphics.
