View scale factors
This function allows you to alter the scale of the view. The scaling factors are defined independently for each of the three directions, X, Y and Z. The default values of 1,1,1 are always supplied. If these values are applied then the view will not be altered. Any value other than 1 will cause the view to be altered.
To run this function: Choose View > Data view options > View scale factors, or...
Negative scaling factors will achieve a mirroring effect.
Scaling factors whose absolute value is < 1 will cause a shrinking of the view.
Scaling factors whose absolute value is > 1 will cause an enlargement of the view.
Scaling factors of zero while allowed are not reasonable as the earth tends to become flat or worse it may shrink to a dot.
The scale factors which are applied are cumulative. That is, if you enter a scaling factor of 2 for the X direction and apply the form and then enter a scaling factor of 3 for the X direction and apply the form, the effect will be the same as if you enter a scaling factor of 6 only once.
X direction
Enter the scaling parameter for the X direction.
Y direction
Enter the scaling parameter for the Y direction.
Z direction
Enter the scaling parameter for the Z direction.
After you choose Apply the view will be altered according to the parameters which you have entered. The view may be reset to the original orientation with no scaling effects using Reset View.
