String copy
This function allows you to copy all segments of a string to a new position and to specify the new string number for the copied segments.
To run this function: Choose Edit > String > Copy , or...
Select and drag the string to be copied
Position the pointer near the string to be copied and drag it to the new position. Feedback will be displayed to show the new position of the string as it is dragged.
The STRING Copy function will continue until the Cancel key is pressed when the prompt to drag the string is displayed.
Selection of the string displays the COPY A STRING form. Enter the string number for the copied string.
From SWA
Display only. The name of the layer from which the string has been copied.
String
Display only. The string number of the string being copied.
To SWA
Display only. The name of the layer into which the string will be copied.
Note: Only the active layer may be modified this will always be the name of the active layer.
String
Enter the string number for the copied string.
Pressing the Cancel key when the form is displayed will Cancel that particular copy function and the prompt to select a string will be re-displayed.
All segments of the copied string will be drawn in their new position with the specified string number as a label.
String delete
This function allows you to delete all segments of a specified string.
To run this function: Choose Edit > String > Delete , or...
Select the string to be deleted
Position the pointer and select a point on the string which is to be deleted.
All segments of the selected string which are in the active layer are deleted and the screen picture is updated accordingly.
The point selected is not in the working layer and cannot be edited
Only points which are in the active layer can be edited. You have selected a point which is not in the active layer.
String delete range
This function allows you to delete a range of strings from the active layer.
To run this function: Choose Edit > String > Delete range , or...
Enter the string range to be deleted using a range specifier.
Swa name
Display only. The name of the active layer is displayed here which is the only layer you may delete strings from.
String range
Enter the range of strings to be deleted as a valid range specifier.
The specified strings are deleted from the active layer and the screen is updated accordingly.
