Segment copy
This function allows you to copy a selected segment to a new position and give the copied segment a new string number.
To run this function: Choose Edit > Segment > Copy , or...
Select and drag the segment to be copied
Position the pointer near the segment to be copied and drag it to the new position. Feedback will be displayed to show the new position of the segment as it is dragged.
The SEGMENT Copy function will continue until the Cancel key is pressed when the prompt to drag the segment is displayed.
Selection of the segment will display the COPYA STRING SEGMENT form. Enter the string number for the copied segment.
Pressing the Cancel key when the form is displayed will cancel the current segment copy and the prompt to select a segment will be re-displayed.
From Layer
Display only. The name of the layer from which the segment has been copied.
String
Display only. The string number of the segment being copied.
Segment
Display only. The segment number of the segment being copied
To Layer
Display only. The name of the layer into which the string will be copied.
Note: Only the active layer may be modified. This will always be the name of the active layer.
String
Enter the string number for the copied string.
The selected segment will be drawn in the new position and labelled with the new string and segment number.
Segment Delete
This function allows you to delete a segment of a string.
To run this function: Choose Edit > Segment > Delete , or...
Select the segment to be deleted
Position the pointer and select a point on the segment which is to be deleted.
The selected segment is deleted and the screen is updated accordingly.
The point selected is not in the working layer and cannot be edited
Only points which are in the active layer can be edited. You have selected a point which is not in the active layer.
Segment join
This function allows you to join two segments of the same string number together. The selected segments must both be in the active layer, they must both be open and they must be different segments.
To run this function: Choose Edit > Segment > Join , or...
Select the first segment to join
Position the pointer and select the first segment to be joined.
At the prompt:
Select the second segment to join
Position the pointer and select the second segment to be joined.
The SEGMENTJoin function will continue until the Cancel button is pressed.
The two segments are joined together to form a single segment by connecting the last point of the first segment to the first point of the second segment and the picture is updated accordingly.
The points selected are on the same segment. This is not permitted
The point selected is not in the working layer and cannot be edited
String is closed - It MUST be open
