Point insert

This function allows you to insert a point into a segment after a selected point on the segment.

The new point is inserted at a digitised position on the screen and a form is then displayed for you to alter the coordinates of the new point if necessary. Only segments in the active layer may have points inserted.

To run this function: Choose Edit > Point > Insert, or...

  • In the Function Chooser, type POINT INSERT, and press ENTER.

Select point after which to insert, then drag.

Selection of the point will display the Enter/Edit a point form. Verify the coordinates for the new point.

Function

Display only. The name of the function being executed.

String

Display only. The string number of the selected point.

Y value

Enter the Y value for the point.

X value

Enter the X value for the point.

Z value

Enter the Z value for the point.

Descriptions

Enter individual point descriptions for the point. Descriptions can be entered from D1 to D100.

The PointInsert function will continue until the Cancel button is pressed at the select point prompt.

The new point is inserted at the coordinates specified and the screen is updated accordingly.

Point Move

This function allows you to move a selected point to a new position by defining the displacement. Only points in the active layer can be moved.

To run this function: Choose Edit > Point > Move, or...

  • In the Function Chooser, type POINT MOVE, and press ENTER.

Select and drag the point to be moved

Position the pointer and select the point which is to be moved. Graphic feedback is provided to show the position of the point as it is being moved.

The POINT Move function will continue until the Cancel button is pressed.

The selected point is moved to the new position and the picture is updated accordingly.
