Report layer extents

This function displays the data extents, that is, minimum and maximum Y, X, and Z values in the message window. This information is sometimes useful when you need to know the extents of your data. The extents of the data for the current layer only are displayed in the message window. The name of the current layer is displayed in the dialog region.

To run this function: Choose Inquire > Report layer extents, or...

  • In the Function Chooser, type LAYER EXTENTS, and press ENTER.

The minimum and maximum Y, X and Z values are displayed in the Message window.

An example of the results are shown below:

Ymin = 6746.430, Ymax = 6823.880, Xmin = 2417.380, Xmax = 2458.810
Zmin = 147.390, Zmax = 157.692
