Hide strings by selection

This function permits you to erase strings by using the mouse to select the string that is to be erased. When a string is selected for erasure, all data from that string that has been drawn by any of the drawing functions is removed from the graphics screen. Data can be erased from any layer, including the active graphics layer, provided of course the layer in question is selectable.

To run this function: Choose Display > Hide strings > By selection, or...

• In the Function Chooser, type ERASE STRING BY SELECTION, and press ENTER.

Note: The data is only erased, it is not deleted. The data may be redrawn by using any of the graphics drawing functions.

Select the string to be erased

Use the mouse to select the string to be erased. This function remains in a loop until a new function is invoked or a key on the keyboard is depressed.

Result

All segments of the selected string, in the layer that contains that string, are erased from the screen. The string is not been deleted and may be drawn again using any of the drawing functions.
