Segment functions
This file allows you to break a segment into two new segments by removing the line after a selected point.
To run this function: Choose Edit > Segment > Break , or...
Select the segment to break
Position the pointer and select the point directly before where the break is to be made. Note that a break cannot be made by selecting the first or last point of a segment.
The SEGMENT Break function will continue until the Cancel button is pressed.
The selected segment is broken into two new segments and the picture is updated accordingly.
The point selected is not in the working layer and cannot be edited
Only points which are in the active layer can be edited. You have selected a point which is not in the active layer.
Segment Close
This function allows you to close a segment which is presently open.
To run this function: Choose Edit > Segment > Close , or...
Select the segment to be closed
Position the pointer and select a point on the segment which is to be closed. The segment selected must be open.
The SEGMENT Close function will continue until the Cancel button is pressed.
The selected segment is closed and the screen is updated accordingly.
The point selected is not in the working layer and cannot be edited
Only points which are in the active layer can be edited. You have selected a point which is not in the active layer.
The selected segment is already closed
Segment Consolidate
This function allows you to close a segment which is presently open.
To run this function: Choose Edit > Segment > Consolidate , or...
Select the string to be have segments consolidated within it
Position the pointer and select a string which is to have it's segments consolidated. Segments within
Next the Consolidate segments in string will appear. Displayed is the string that you selected and a prompt to enter a distance.
The distance entered will be used to close and join segments within the distance that you specify. Note two point segments will not be closed no matter what distance is specified as it only produces redundant information.
The SEGMENT Consolidate function will continue until the Cancel button is pressed.
The selected string has the segments closed and joined within it.
The point selected is not in the working
layer and cannot be edited
Only points which are in the active layer can be edited. You have selected a point which is not in the active layer.
