Angle between 3 points
This function allows you to determine the clockwise angle between two lines. The lines are defined by selecting three points and the clockwise angle between the two lines is created by going from the first to the third point in the order of selection is displayed.
To run this function: Choose Inquire > Angle between 3 points, or...
Select backsight point
Select the point to be used as the backsight point.
At the prompt:
Select setup point
Select the point to be used as the setup point.
At the prompt:
Select foresight point
Select the point to be used as the foresight point.
The Display Angle function will continue until the Cancel key is pressed.
Selection of the backsight, setup and foresight points will display the clockwise included angle between the two lines in the message window.
The angle is expressed as shown below:
- If you have selected DEGREES as your Angle units, the angle is displayed in DDD.MMSS format:
Clockwise angle between lines = 28.3506
- If you have selected GRADS as your Angle units, the result is displayed to four decimal places:
