Fields on the Digitiser string attributes form

Field Description
String Display only. The digitiser string number.
Z

The elevation at which the point is digitised.

Note: If the active plane is not horizontal, this field is unavailable.

Desc

The description value to apply to the digitised point.

Note: If you want to add descriptions to more than one description field, enter the information for each field, separated by a comma. The description fields are used sequentially. That is, the first value is entered in D1, the second in D2.

Snapping properties
Use Desc of selected point The values entered in the description fields of the new point are taken from the description fields in the existing point if you are using snap to point. The values entered in the description fields of the new point are taken from the description fields of the nearest point if you are using snap to line or snap to triangle. If you are using no snap, no values are added to the description fields.
User entered Desc The values you typed in the Desc field are written to the description fields for each point.
Project selections to the current plane
  • Selected: When you are snapping to existing data (for example, point, line, or triangle), the point is projected onto the active plane.
  • Cleared: When you are snapping to existing data (for example, point, line, or triangle), the point is digitised at the exact location of the existing data.
