Extract plans for calculation
With this function you can extract drill hole plans into string files for grade calculations. The plans are defined by specifying the elevation of the first horizontal plane and the distances either side of this plane. Only the samples which fall inside these limits will be extracted. Multiple plans can be extracted at one time by entering a range of elevations. All samples that meet the selection criteria will be output to a separate string file for each elevation.
To run this function: Choose Database > Extract > Plans for calculations, or...
Location of string files
Enter the location name for the string files that will be generated.
Z range
Enter the range of plan elevations that you wish to extract drill hole data for.
For example, if you wish to extract plans from elevation 50 to elevation 200, every 50 metres, you would enter a range of `50,200,50'.
Define the plan extents and heights
above and below the plane
Y extents
Enter the minimum and maximum Y value of the area within which you wish to extract drill hole data.
X extents
Enter the minimum and maximum X value of the area within which you wish to extract drill hole data.
Z extents
Enter the projection distance either side of the plan elevation.
Sample table
Enter the name of the interval type sample table that you wish to use to extract data for grade calculations.
Complete the EXTRACT PLANS FOR GRADE CALCULATIONS form and choose Apply to display the DEFINE SAMPLE FIELDS form.
Table
The name of the sample table is displayed here.
Field name
Enter the names of the sample fields that you wish to extract for grade calculations. Up to twenty fields can be extracted at one time.
Complete the DEFINE SAMPLE FIELDS form and choose Apply to display the DEFINE QUERY CONSTRAINTS form. See Selecting Data To Be Processed.
Complete the DEFINE QUERY CONSTRAINTS form and choose Apply to commence the processing of the data, and return to the EXTRACTING STRINGS submenu.
Upon completion of processing the names of the output string files will be displayed in the message window. The output from Plan Sections for Calculations is a string file for each elevation selected, with a Location Name you supplied and an ID number equal to the elevation of each plan selected. Each drill hole which meets the selection criteria will be stored in a separate string number in the output file, starting with string number one. The entire hole trace within the extraction criteria will be stored in the output file, along with each selected sample stored in the D field of each string. The actual data point stored for each of these strings represents the end point of the selected sample.
The main purpose of this function is to extract information from the database into string files for interval weighted average grade calculations.
