Label tickmarks selectable
You can use this function to make it easier to digitise points in section view that snap to labels you have displayed on drillhole traces, for example when you are digitising an ore body. The points will snap to the tick marks that represent the boundaries of the label intervals, rather than to the labels beside the tick marks.
When you run the menu command for this function, Surpac alternates between running DRILLHOLE LABELS SELECTABLE and DRILLHOLE LABELS NOT SELECTABLE. When label marks are selectable, you can create a point that snaps to a particular sample point, or to any attribute value for which you have displayed labels.
Tip: If you have geology patterns displayed, you might also want to make them not selectable (DRILLHOLE GEOLOGY NOT SELECTABLE). This step makes it much more difficult for you to accidentally select the edge of a geology zone.
Note: Make sure that Snap mode is set to Point. When Snap mode is set to Plane, you can click anywhere in the current plane, so the points you create do not snap to geology.
Prerequisites: Drillholes are displayed in section view with labels displayed.
To run this function: Choose Database > Display > Label tickmarks selectable, or
- In the Function Chooser, type DRILLHOLE LABELS SELECTABLE or DRILLHOLE LABELS NOT SELECTABLE, and press ENTER.
Output
If you ran DRILLHOLE LABELS SELECTABLE, you are able to create a point that snaps to the tick mark of a label on a drillhole (when snap mode is set to Point). Specifically, the point is created where the tick mark intersects the drillhole trace. If you ran DRILLHOLE LABELS NOT SELECTABLE, you cannot create a point that snaps to a label on a drillhole.
The following image shows an example of digitising with label tick marks selectable, geology patterns not selectable, and snap mode set to Point.
