Window appearance

You can use this function to make a minor change to the appearance of the Surpac menus, toolbar buttons, and dockable windows

The display styles that you can choose are:

  • Microsoft Office 2003. This display style is the default option. Menus and menu commands are highlighted in orange when you select them. The edges of toolbar buttons are visible.
  • Plain. Menus and menu commands are highlighted in blue when you select them. The edges of toolbar buttons are not visible. Plain uses a different font compared to Microsoft Office 2003, which has the effect of adding slightly more space between each letter.
  • Compact. Menu commands are displayed with less space between them, compared to the other display styles. Compact is useful if you are using a menu at a particular screen resolution that causes the menu commands to extend beyond the bottom of the screen.

To run this function: Choose Customise > Window appearance, and choose one of the display styles that are listed.

Output

The font and background colour used for the menus changes. The edges of the toolbar buttons might disappear or reappear, depending on the display style.
