Upgrade from old installation
You can use this function to copy customised Surpac files from an older version of Surpac to a newer version. This command copies the following types of file:

| plane | You can copy planes and plane groups that you have already set up in another version of Surpac. |
| plotting file | These include title blocks and plotting entities. |
| styles file | You can use a styles files to define the line colour for strings. |
| profile | You might have a customised profile that shows specific toolbars and menu commands. |
| logical | You use a logical to define a short name that represents a much longer directory name so that you do not have to type the longer directory name later. |
| alias files |
An alias file allows you to define a shorter function name to use to run a Surpac function. You can have more than one alias file. Alias files are usually stored in SSI_ETC.

| keymap file |
The keymap file allows you to map keyboard function keys to specific Surpac functions.

This function copies all these types of file. If you want to copy only some of these file types, for example only the planes, or only some of the planes, copy them manually in Windows Explorer.
These files types are stored under SSI_ETC by default. The default location of SSI_ETC is C:\Users\Public\GEOVIA\Surpac\<version>\share\etc.
To run this function: Choose Customise > Upgrade from old installation, or
Note: When you install a new version of Surpac, and then run that version of Surpac for the first time, you are prompted to copy files from an older installation. If you choose Yes, you run COPY CUSTOM FILES.

The installed version of Surpac from which to copy the customised files. If, for any reason, you already have a version of Surpac installed with the same version number, for example Surpac 6.6.1 when you are installing another Surpac 6.6.1, the existing version of Surpac (6.6.1 in this example) is not listed and you cannot copy its settings using this function. |
Output
The customised files are copied to the correct location for the new version of Surpac.
Note: The correct location for each of the file types is shown under Customise > Default preferences > Alias files > Translations.
