Text editor

This function allows a user-defined text editor to be invoked from within the software. Some examples of text editors are UltraEdit ™ and ConTEXT ™.

To run this function: Choose File > Utilities > Text editor, or...

• In the Function Chooser, type TEXT EDITOR, and press ENTER.

The function is controlled by entering an appropriate response next to the 'text editor' line in defaults.ssi.

A valid entry in defaults.ssi is:

text editor=ne 

Result

The GEOVIA software is replaced on the screen with your text editor program. If you run the escape sequence in your text editor, you are returned to the module from where you invoked the text editor.

Tip: Add a convenient alias command in your commands.ssi file. If your text editor is Norton Editor for example, use an alias command such as ne.
