Stereoscopic 3D visualisation

To make stereoscopic 3D visualisation available in Surpac you need to configure your graphics driver and change the default preference settings in Surpac.

Configure your graphics driver

  1. Click the Start button and choose Control Panel.
  2. Click NVIDIA Control Panel.
  3. Under the Stereoscopic 3D node, click Set up stereoscopic 3D.
  4. Select the Enable stereoscopic 3D check box.
  5. Set the Depth slider to Default.
  6. Clear the Hide stereoscopic 3D effects when game starts check box.
  7. Under the 3D Settings node, click Manage 3D settings.
  8. In the Global Settings tab, set the Global presets to 3D OpenGL Stereo, and ensure the Stereo - Display mode is set to NVIDIA recommended.
  9. Under the Display node, click Change resolution.
  10. In Resolution, under HD 3D, select 720p, 1280 x 720.
  11. Note: This resolution is recommended because it supports a 60 Hz refresh rate. The resolution is limited by hardware, a 60 Hz refresh rate at 1920 x 1080 might be supported in future hardware.

  12. Close the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Select stereo 3D mode in Surpac

  1. Choose Customise > Default preferences.
  2. Under Graphics > Hardware settings, click the Graphics display driver drop-down and choose OpenGL.
  3. Note: The OpenGL driver is currently the only driver to support stereoscopic 3D visualisation.

  4. Select the Stereo 3D check box.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Exit and restart Surpac for the settings to take effect.
  7. The Surpac graphics workspace is displayed in stereoscopic 3D mode.
