Product Improvement Program

You can use this function to participate in the Product Improvement Program which helps GEOVIA improve the ease of use, quality, reliability, and performance of Surpac. When you participate, your usage data is collected in a usage log.

Prerequisites: None.

To run this function: Choose Help > Product Improvement Program, or...

• In the Function Chooser, type USAGE SETTINGS, and press ENTER.

Usage logs are stored in C:\Users\Public\GEOVIA\Surpac\<version>\share\log.

By default, you are set up to participate, and your computer name and licence details are provided to GEOVIA, but if you want to remain anonymous, you can clear the Provide contact information check box.

The usage log stores information such as your operating system and video adaptor, and a list of recent functions you have used. Your mining and design data are not sent to GEOVIA.

Field	Description
I would like to participate	Selected: Usage logs are collected and sent. Cleared.: Usage logs are not collected or sent.
Provide contact information	Selected: Usage logs include your computer name and licence details. Cleared: Usage logs do not include your computer name and licence details.
Job function	The description that most closely matches your area of expertise: Survey, Geology, Engineering, or Other

Output

If you chose to participate, each time you start Surpac a usage log is created.

After 10 log files are created, and then you start Surpac, Surpac sends the usage logs to GEOVIA automatically. After your log files are sent, they are deleted from the folder.
