Other command

Function Name:

• OTHER COMMAND

This function allows any other program to be invoked from within the software. It works in exactly the same manner as File Manager and Text Editor. You can invoke any other program. This could be a simple spreadsheet program for example.

The function is controlled by entering an appropriate response next to the ''other command'' line in defaults.ssi.

For DOS, a valid entry in defaults.ssi is:

other command=norton

Result

DOS:

The GEOVIA software is replaced on the screen with your other program. If you run the escape sequence in your other program, you are returned to the module from where you invoked the text editor.

Hint: Add a convenient alias command in your commands.ssi file. If your other command is Norton Utilities 6.0 for example, use an alias command such as nu.
