Reorder attributes
This function allows you to select the order in which the attributes are to be displayed. This order will then be used in all forms (selection boxes), all tables, and all output from the model (for example the output centroids function). Attributes can be automatically ordered into alphabetical order, or the order of the attributes can be specified by the user into any order you like.
To run this function: Choose Block model > Attributes > Reorder attributes, or...
All attributes are defined on the Order attributes form, and you can select one attribute, or a group of attributes by holding down the Ctrl or Shift keys while clicking on the attribute names. When you have selected the required attributes, you can use the following buttons to move the attributes up and down the list.
| Icon | Description |
| 1 | Move the selected attributes to the top of the list |
| 2 | Move the selected attributes up one position (if possible) |
| 3 | Move the selected attributes down one position (if possible) |
| 4 | Move the selected attributes to the bottom of the list |
There are a number of predefined orderings available, which may also be used as starting points for the selection of a user defined order. They are:
| Icon | Description |
| 5 | Order the attribute alphabetically |
| 6 | Order the attributes in reverse alphabetical order |
| 7 | Sort attributes by group (and alphabetically as a second sort parameter) |
| 8 | Sort attributes by group (and reverse alphabetically as a second sort parameter) |
After you apply this form, the ordering you have specified will remain active for the life of the model.
Any new attributes added to the model after the ordering has been defined will appear in alphabetical order at the bottom of the defined list. Of course, using this function again will allow you to place any new attributes into whatever order you desire.
