Saving Datamine block models
In Surpac, you can save a Datamine model back to Datamine format, allowing seamless integration between Surpac and Datamine. However, Datamine currently has a strict maximum limit on the number of attributes that you can save to the file. If you load a Datamine model in Surpac, and then create attributes, it is quite possible to exceed this limit. If this happens, you have two options:
- Remove attributes until the number of attributes is below the limit:
- Save the file to a free block model format: The problem with this method is that even though Surpac will see the new file as a Datamine file and process it accordingly, you will be unable to open the file in Datamine. If you remove attributes until you are below the limit, then you will again be able to save the model in a format acceptable for Datamine, so saving to this extended format is not an irreversible step.
If you try to save a Datamine block model which goes over the allowable 'number of attributes' limit, the Unable to Save to a Datamine Format form is displayed.
