Edit attributes for one block

With this function you can use the mouse to select a block for editing from a block model which has been displayed using the BM GRAPHICS DRAW function. The block centroid coordinates, the block dimensions and the block attribute values will be displayed in a form to view and edit the block attributes values.

To run this function: Choose Block model > Attributes > Edit attributes for one block, or Block model > Display > Edit attributes for one block, or...

  • In the Function Chooser, type BM GRAPHICS BLOCK EDIT, and press ENTER.

Select a block using the mouse

Select the block of interest with the mouse to display the BLOCK ATTRIBUTES form for viewing and editing the block's attributes. The selected block is temporarily highlighted in the graphics viewport by drawing the block edges in a thickened line. If displaying the model as a point cloud, a circle will highlight the selected block.

When selecting a block at a lower resolution than actually in the model, the average of that block is calculated by weighting the sub blocks by their volume relative to the super block that is being selected. It will also indicate on the form the amount of sub blocks used in the calculation.

Note: Editing of values for super blocks that have had averages calculated is automatically disabled.

The BLOCK ATTRIBUTES form contains a scrolling region with two columns of information. The first column labelled `Attribute' contains a list of the attribute names while the second column labelled `Value' contains the values of the attributes.

Use the scroll bar to view the attributes of interest and edit the values if necessary.

Choose Apply to save the attribute values back to the Block Model and redisplay the prompt to select a block. Choose Cancel to abandon the changes and cancel the function.

Note:You must remember to save the block model to make any changes which you make become permanent. If you do not save the model these changes will be lost.

Result

The modified attributes values will be saved in the memory copy of the block model.
